Mauro Júnior made his 100th appearance in all competitions for PSV when they faced Sevilla FC in Spain. The Brazilian joined PSV in 2017 and after a spell with PSV U21 and a spell on loan with Heracles Almelo he developed into a first-team regular.

Mauro Júnior impressed at football trials with PSV in the summer of 2013. The midfielder joined Desportivo Brazil and made his first-team debut in Brazil in 2017.
