Head coach Mark van Bommel is looking forward to PSV’s next game. Barely 72 hours after reaching the Europa League group stages after a win over Apollon Limassol, PSV face RKC Waalwijk in their last match before the international break.
Games coming in thick and fast
We face a hectic schedule, with games coming in thick and fast”, says Van Bommel. “On Friday we flew home, we trained on Saturday and meet RKC Waalwijk on Sunday evening. But that’s what you should relish as a football player, play many games in a short period of time,”
A large squad
A strong and large squad is essential, according to PSV’s head coach. “We must ensure we will not overcharge our players. We have a young squad and several of our players are not used to the rhythm of playing three games a week. “
A clear game plan
RKC Waalwijk are at the foot of the Eredivisie table but Van Bommel feels PSV cannot underestimate any team. “Since RKC have been promoted to the top flight they have put in some fine performances. They have a clear game plan”, said Van Bommel who did not reveal the starting line-up for Sunday’s game yet. “But we will go out to take all three points before the players fly out during the international break.”
