“We should have stayed in the game”

PSV ended a dismal week with defeat at home to AZ. A straight red card, shown to Ryan Thomas after 22 minutes, led to a 4-0 hammering. Head coach Van Bommel was disappointed his team conceded two goals on the stroke of half-time. “When you are down to ten men, you should give your all to keep yourselves in the game and go into the half-time break while it is still goalless. But unfortunately we failed to do so.”
