Ryan Flamingo was one of the first signings after the successful 2023-2024 season. The talented centre-back was brought in to replace André Ramalho, who had left the club. Ryan had impressed in two consecutive seasons as a regular for Vitesse and FC Utrecht. The captain of Jong Oranje immediately established himself as a key player in defence. Ryan played no fewer than 24 matches in the first half of the season, excelling in the UEFA Champions League in the home match against Sporting CP, among others.

Flamingo's football journey began in 2014 at the Almere City youth academy. At the age of sixteen, he made his debut for the Under-21s, after which he was picked up by VS Sassuolo in Serie A in the summer of 2021. After a season in Italy, where he played for the club's Under-20s, he returned to the Netherlands. First on loan at Vitesse and then at FC Utrecht, where he was permanently signed.
