Despite a 2-0, captain Marco van Ginkel was not entirely satisfied with the match against Roda JC Kerkrade. According to Van Ginkel, PSV should have scored more than twice. "We should have capitalized on measuring chances," he said at FOX Sports.
With nine points from three games, PSV has made a fine start to the season. However, playing and especially finishing still need to improve, Van Ginkel believes. "In the break we said: keep going, there are chances, with 2-0 you know it remains dangerous. But anyway, you win and that is the most important thing."
Cocu unhappy with second half
Head coach Phillip Cocu drew that conclusion as well. "We failed to put down a big result," he felt. "We have to blame ourselves for staying at 2-0. Too many players started playing their own game in the second half. I'm certainly not happy about that. I don't want to veer into the negative, but we have to remain critical."
Cocu liked the first half better. "We made good use of the spaces and had a lot of depth. In addition, we played very aggressively. We only should have made the third and fourth."
