The Municipality of Eindhoven is warning of severe traffic congestion Thursday in the city center. The peak hour is expected around the evening rush hour, reports the municipality.
The expected traffic delays are related to road works in the city center and influx to Philips Stadium which is quite early due to the 6:45 p.m. start time. As previously reported, PSV Avenue is closed in both directions, and the Mathildelaan-Emmasingel intersection is also closed due to road works.
The municipality reports that the Vonderweg, Fellenoord and Vestdijktunnel will be kept open as long as possible, but will also be closed briefly, probably around 5 p.m. - 5:30 p.m., leading up to the game.
Motorists are advised to avoid downtown around rush hour. Visitors to the stadium are advised to choose a form of transportation other than car or, if this is not possible, to arrive well before the game.
Reducing inconvenience
PSV is making every effort to minimize the inconvenience to visitors. During the works, PSV will continue to monitor whether the measures taken minimize the nuisance and will come up with new measures where necessary. In addition, where possible, the club advises visitors to come to the Philips Stadium by alternative means during busy events.
