RC Lens kicked off against FC Nantes at home the day after the European match against PSV. Whereas Elye Wahi was the only goal-scorer against PSV, other names appeared on the scoreboard against the French opponent. Striker Florian Sotoca found the net twice from the penalty spot, Argentine Facundo Medina managed to score and substitute Neil El Aynaoui determined the final score at 4-0.
Last Saturday, 'sang et or' came into action against FC Lorient, the current number fifteen in the Ligue 1 rankings. Against the team from Pas de la Loire, where former PSV goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo operates as a sneak post, RC Lens failed to score in a 0-0 draw despite many goal attempts. The club currently occupies the tenth spot in the league table with thirteen points from eleven matches.
