Memphis gave PSV a 1-0 lead in the first half against Heracles Almelo. With a truly magnificent free kick from well outside the sixteen, he scored the opening goal.

Just like two weeks ago against Excelsior, PSV also entered the match against Heracles Almelo with a changed eleven. Remko Pasveer played in place of Jeroen Zoet, Jürgen Locadia replaced Luciano Narsingh in the starting line-up. With these two players at the start, PSV went looking for the opening goal from the first minute, but Phillip Cocu's team failed to combine through Heracles' defense in the first half hour. On PSV's side, Memphis was the most dangerous man through three free kicks. His first was an easy prey for Heracles goalkeeper Castro, the second Memphis shot brilliantly from about 25 meters. Soon after, it was almost 2-0 in the same way, this time Castro processed the striker's free kick into a corner. Five minutes before halftime, PSV had another chance at the 2-0, but from a cross by Jetro Willems, Luuk de Jong headed over.
