Young PSV, with former De Graafschap goalkeeper Jurjus on goal, started strongly against the number fifteen of the Jupiler League. Jansen's team created two good chances within eight minutes. First goalkeeper Bednarek parried a shot by Rosario, a few minutes later Van Vlerken headed just wide. A good start for the talents. After about half an hour De Graafschap got more into the game and became stronger. A few minutes later Jurjus had to come into action for the first time. The keeper tapped a header by striker Parzyszek over his goal, a clever save. The last few minutes before halftime were for the visitors. A few minutes later Jozefzoon also had a chance, but his shot went just wide of the goal. There was little to enjoy for the neutral spectator in the second half: Both Young PSV and the Superboeren created almost no chances. Alberto, Rommens and Blummel came into the team and played for another half hour. Just before time, El Jebli tried his luck from distance. His shot ended up in the net behind Jurjus' goal. The game seemed to end 0-0, but just before time Young PSV scored. Rosario, who already had two chances this match, headed the promising team to a 1-0 victory.
