Thanks to a goal by Georginio Wijnaldum deep into injury time, PSV managed to win 2-3 at ADO Den Haag. Through goals by Luciano Narsingh and Luuk de Jong, Phillip Cocu's team had already fought back from a deficit twice. PSV also ended the season with 88 points, a new club record.
Narsingh scores the 1-1
In the final game of the season, PSV entered the match with a changed team. While Pasveer had kept the previous two games, it was now Jeroen Zoet's turn again. Nicolas Isimat-Mirin was also given a starting place. It took a while for the game to get going, with hardly any chances in the first quarter of an hour. PSV then became dangerous through Memphis and a daring long-range shot by Maher, but it went wide. ADO did score from the first opportunity. Iakovenko decided to take a long-range shot and scored: 1-0. PSV seemed a little put out and Zoet had to make several saves. Still, Phillip Cocu's team had chances to equalize, but Luuk de Jong shot straight at ADO goalkeeper Hansen and Memphis headed over. In the 45th minute, PSV got their reward. Narsingh finished after a combination between Memphis and De Jong: 1-1.

PSV fights back from deficit
ADO got off to a fierce start in the second half and saw that rewarded almost immediately with a goal. Kramer tipped the ball over Zoet, but Rekik prevented a goal with a good defensive move. Another great chance for ADO immediately followed, but Alberg's goal was disallowed due to offside. Ten minutes later it was a goal. Danny Bakker had a free run into the penalty area from the right and curled the ball around Zoet: 2-1. Luuk de Jong had missed a great opportunity just before, but after the 2-1 it was a goal. Memphis was sent into the depths by Schaars and played the ball off to De Jong, who tapped it in with a chop from close range: 2-2. The game seemed to end on the same note, but Georginio Wijnaldum decided otherwise. Well into injury time, he headed in a cross from Jetro Willems: 2-3. After that, referee Kevin Blom blew the whistle and the season was over. Memphis became top scorer of the Eredivisie with 22 goals, closely followed by De Jong (20).

PSV grabs points record
With the 2-3 victory over ADO Den Haag, PSV improved its own points record. That stood at 87 and dated from the 1985-1986 and 2004-2005 seasons, but the victory over ADO allowed PSV to end this season on 88 points, a new record. Moreover, the three points also mean victory number 29 of the season, so many games PSV never won in a year.
