PSV experienced a historic evening in Amsterdam. There the club won the Johan Cruijff Schaal after a strong 0-4 victory. Captain Marco van Ginkel took the prize in his hands and the grin was still on his face long after the match: "This is what I came back for, for prizes."
Enjoying Noni
PSV took an early lead at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. Noni Madueke was the man of the match with two fine goals. Van Ginkel cannot give enough compliments to his teammate. "We started very well, with beautiful goals by Noni," he told ESPN's camera. "To win 0-4 is just very nice. Noni has started this season very well. He is becoming more mature. It's enjoyable having him play with us."
New trophy in the trophy cabinet
Mario Götze can add another trophy to his already richly stocked trophy cabinet. With a big smile, he gave the praise to his club: "It was a good match and winning a trophy is always fantastic. You never know what to expect against Ajax but we took all the chances now." Last season they failed to win against the Amsterdammers, but now PSV finished the job convincingly. According to Götze, the team has grown considerably since last year: "We have new, good players. We have worked out the coach's philosophy better. It's just going very well now."
Man of the Match Madueke
'Super Mario' also received plenty of positive words from his fellow players, including the man of the match: Noni Madueke. "It's a fantastic player Götze. It also makes me better to have him next to me. I can trust him to handle the ball well." The Englishman can also be proud of himself, after two fantastic goals: "This was one of my best games in a PSV shirt .Glad I was able to help so early in the game. I like to let the defense guess where I will dribble and today that worked very well."
