PSV is taking action against those who set off violent smoke bombs at the Philips Stadium during PSV - Ajax. One perpetrator has now been arrested and handed over to the police. Together with police and judicial authorities, PSV will search for others involved. "This goes beyond all limits, we will recover the damage from the perpetrators and they will receive a long-term stadium ban," Toon Gerbrands said. PSV calls on fans physically affected by the smoke to report themselves.

Health effects
Fifteen people were treated by first aid as a result of the smoke bomb. PSV contacted the GGD about the health effects of the smoke bomb. The health service says: "If you have inhaled smoke, you may suffer from irritating eyes, nose and airways. Your eyes may water and you may cough. If you have sensitive airways because of asthma, for example, you may experience tightness of the chest or wheezing. Whether the smoke is harmful to your health depends on the amount of smoke inhaled. The closer to the source of the smoke, the more smoke you have inhaled. And the longer you stood in the smoke, the more smoke you inhaled. The more smoke you inhaled, the faster your body reacts and the longer the symptoms may persist. There is very little chance that smoke inhalation will result in permanent health damage. If you have been standing in the smoke and are suffering from these symptoms and the symptoms do not abate, we advise you to contact your GP. PSV is also calling on supporters experiencing physical complaints from the smoke to report to the club. This can be done via fandesk@psv.nl.
