The UEFA Champions League draw will take place in Monaco at 6 p.m. on Thursday evening. PSV, which qualified at the expense of BATE Borisov on Wednesday, is in pot 3 in the draw.
Possible opponents
That means that on paper PSV will face one lesser opponent. In addition, the club faces a champion from a prominent football country or one of last season's European Cup winners and another team from one of the bigger European leagues.
UEFA has changed the pot format since last year. Pot 1 includes not only the champions of the biggest six leagues, but also the winners of the Champions League and Europa League. In pot 2 also many big names, which is partly due to the fact that Spain, England, Italy and Germany provide four clubs for the group stage.
