During the press conference ahead of the league match against Fortuna Sittard Peter Bosz looked back at the lessons from the previous game and gave an update on some of the players. The coach is counting on a tough away game against a well-organized opponent, but stressed that his team knows what it has to do.
What lessons do you take away from the previous match?
"It's always about holding on to the good and trying to improve on the lesser. But one thing is clear: you're a top athlete and then you can't let a gap get too big for 45 minutes. That just can't happen and we have to stay sharp on that."
How is the selection heading into this match?
"Sergiño Dest is not there due to injury. The rest of the group will train shortly. With Dennis Man, after today's training we will see how he is doing and if he is employable."
How did you like Esmir Bajraktarević as a striker?
"I thought Esmir did well in the striker position. It is a completely different position for him, but he is strong in the small spaces and can play well there. He scored and that's important for a striker. He is a young player with spirit, and he shows it."
How do you look at Danny Buijs' team?
"We will really have to get going. It's a very tough and also a very important away game. If you want to become champion, you have to win games like this. It is a well-organized team that relies primarily on a strong defensive organization. Every time you play there, you know it's going to be difficult. At the same time, we have good players to achieve a good result. We have analyzed the opponent well and everyone knows what to do tomorrow. For me, this is definitely a top affair, but one that will be anything but easy."
How do you yourselfguard the sharpness within the group?
"I am very bad at losing. I always want to win and I want to see a sharp group every training session. I can't stand slackness. I pay constant attention to that and the players know that too. That keeps me and the group sharp."
Guus Til plays a lot of minutes in a busy period. How do you dealwith that?
"If you look at all the field players, I would almost certainly dare say that Guus is the one with the most minutes in these two and a half years. I lean on him a lot and I always have. He is very important for me and for the team. It is also remarkable how little he has been injured. He's a sprinter, with a lot of explosiveness, and that's precisely why it's special that he keeps this up so well physically. His body is well put together and he also handles it very professionally, so he can stay fit with this number of games."
