Peter Bosz and Jerdy Schouten think PSV suffered an unnecessary defeat in Turin. Nevertheless, both head coach and player indicate that there are still plenty of chances in the return: 'Anything is possible in front of their own crowd.'

Was this an unnecessary defeat?
"For my feeling, yes. We struggled in the first five minutes, but then we took over the initiative. We adjusted our defense, got more calm in our play and got a grip on the game. In the second half we scored a great goal, and then that late goal is extra sour. Especially since we had few chances against."

What needed to be adjusted?
"We wanted Noa to cover through on their central defender, Mauro to put pressure on their back and Obispo to pick up the outside right. That passing through didn't happen in the beginning, so their outside right kept getting free. After five minutes we corrected that and played a bit more compact, which gave us control back."

In the second half you came into the game better and a highlight from Perišić followed. What did you think?
"Wow. Or yes, I've seen him do it more often. You think he goes full out, but then he places the ball in the short corner in a controlled way. It was a beautiful goal, but not only that. He played well the whole match and showed his class."

What feeling do you retain from this match?
"That it hasn't been played yet. The guys had that feeling too-there could have been more in it. Compared to five months ago, this was really a match."

What did you think of the center defense today?
"The difference from normal is that Olivier Boscagli wasn't there and Armando Obispo was. He fills that position differently, but if you see which strikers he played against, all I can say is that he stood up proudly."

JERDY Schouten

Maybe a crazy question, but do you draw confidence from this defeat?
"No, not a crazy question at all. There were certainly moments from which we can draw confidence, but we also have to be critical and look at what went wrong. That is very important at this stage."

Are you leaving with a different feeling from September?
"I leave with the feeling that we have a chance at home. We could have been in a better position, but in the Philips Stadium we can put up a good game against anyone."

You guys played differently today than against Willem II, with more dirty meters.
"We know we can do that and want to bring it every game, but lately we don't always succeed. Nobody goes into the field with the intention of not giving everything."

How nice is it to have Ivan Perišić there?
"He's a great player, you saw that again today. His goal was of great class."

How do you look at your own play tonight?
"I demand less sloppiness from myself, so I can't be satisfied."

What needs to be better next week?
"We need to create real chances at the right times, instead of sticking to opportunities."
