The quarterfinal of the TOTO KNVB Beker promises to be a cracker. PSV will take on Feyenoord at their own Philips Stadium. Head coach Peter Bosz expects an unpredictable match, but stresses that his team should take the win if it plays its own game.
You've had a little more time now to analyze the game against NEC, what bothers you most?
"The result. You play good football, especially in the second half, have full control of the game, but in the end you give it away unnecessarily. It's frustrating that you don't have a grip on some things, where I do believe that a team is going to get points again if the football is good again. And in that I see us becoming more stable, an upward trend and thus growing back to the football we were playing."
You said last year at City Hall Square that it was going to be harder to stay there as national champions than to get there. Is that what's happening now?
"I think so. You don't have to have studied to say something like that, that's almost always the case. That has nothing to do with laziness, but that it's harder, it shows. I've been around for a while; getting somewhere is hard, staying there even harder."
PSV - Feyenoord, who needs a win more?
"I think both. They are both top clubs and being a top club, you have to win."
What is your feeling about the Feyenoord team?
"It is and remains Feyenoord, a nice affair and therefore a real top match in the Cup. I see a way of playing football at Feyenoord that is different now than at the beginning of the season."
How does the selection stand tomorrow?
"Noa Lang is there. Richard Ledezma, on the other hand, is not. He got quite a knock on the back of his head in the game against NEC."
Before the winter break Feyenoord also visited Philips Stadium, of course a lot has happened in the meantime. How do you rate the chances now compared to then?
"It's a cup game; a real all-or-nothing pot. I'm glad we're playing at home with our crowd there. That's an advantage for us. It's definitely true that we didn't reach our level here and there, and so did Feyenoord. But they are still two top clubs in an all-or-nothing match. If we do our things well, I think we should win against Feyenoord."
