The KNVB has punished PSV for a fireworks incident during the away match against AZ. The football association has imposed a fine of 10,000 euros and determined that the away box will remain empty during the next away game.

During a similar incident during the away game against FC Utrecht (19-02), the KNVB already imposed a suspended penalty on PSV. Because things went wrong again in Alkmaar (28-05) during the final away game of the season, the penalty has now been imposed permanently.

Unacceptable
Managing Director Marcel Brands is not happy about the club being wronged by some of its own supporters: "As a club we stand for passion and pride, but that does not mean that we should endanger the safety and well-being of others. This behavior is unacceptable and we are now directly experiencing the consequences. "This means that PSV will have to do without supporters on August 19 against Vitesse and the away box in Arnhem will remain empty.
