This weekend the championship of calendar year 2016 will be decided. PSV gained 79 points so far this year. Ajax picked up two fewer. In the last six months, although Feyenoord was better than both teams, PSV scored considerably more points in the second half of the 2015-2016 season.

Unbeaten in away matches
PSV is also still unbeaten this calendar year away from its own Philips Stadium. The 16 previous away matches yielded 13 wins and 3 ties. With a result in Amsterdam, PSV can remain unbeaten in away matches for the first time in club history for a year. Only Ajax (1992 and 1995) and SC Enschede (1956) already achieved that milestone.

Evenly matched
Of the 120 matches PSV and Ajax played between them in the Eredivisie, PSV won more than Ajax. But if we only look at the matches in Amsterdam, Ajax has a better average. Ajax won there 31 times, PSV 21 times. However, PSV won the last two editions. On the other hand, the Amsterdammers won the last two encounters in Eindhoven.

Statistics for de Jong brothers
Luuk de Jong, along with Joey Pelupessy of Heracles Almelo, is the only field player in the Eredivisie who has not had to miss a minute last year. If he completes the ninety minutes against Ajax, he will reach the maximum number of 3060 minutes. His brother Siem will be busy with a different statistic. In fact, after Piet van der Kuil, Ruud Geels, Søren Lerby, Frank Arnesen, Wim Jonk and Patrick Kluivert, he could become the seventh player to score for both Ajax against PSV and PSV against Ajax in the Eredivisie. All of these players first scored for Ajax against PSV and later vice versa, just as De Jong could do now.
