With Maxi Romero in the starting lineup, Young PSV won a home game Friday night for the third time this season. This time VVV-Venlo had to take the brunt of it, not having much to say in the first half. The second half, however, had a completely different face, making it exciting after all.

Dominance
Early in the match, the Argentine was put in position. He tried to cut out his direct opponent, but the Venlo defense was just able to prevent that. Moments later, Johan Bakayoko crossed to Cheick Touré, who sent the ball into the goalkeeper's hands with his head. The many chances proved to be a harbinger of things to come. In the 24th minute, Bakayoko scored from the rebound and twenty minutes later it was nota bene Romero who shot Young PSV to a 2-0 lead from the spot.

Exciting finale
The second game got off to a lesser start as VVV-Venlo scored immediately. Vincent Müller then managed to get the ball off the line just in time. This prevented a draw. Then the storm died down and the match bled a little. In the closing stages VVV-Venlo managed to shoot a couple of times, but the same could be said about Young PSV who kept the pressure on via the counter. After 94 minutes the final whistle came that gave Young PSV the win in the first period.
