Malen gloats: 'Everyone was running on their last legs'

Almost everything Donyell Malen touches these days turns to gold in recent weeks. Or at least into a goal. The striker scored his fifth goal in a row against Granada CF, making him another match winner for PSV, which has already secured European wintering after five rounds of play.

Nicosia
For that, PSV needed - besides a win - some help from Cyprus. Omonia Nicosia won over PAOK, deciding Group E. "You can call this a very nice evening," Malen spoke. "We worked very hard and won on that basis. The first half was good, the second as well although we were under a bit more pressure. We knew they were going to come. Everyone was running on their last legs, but we kept fighting," the PSV striker continued.

Figures
The 21-year-old Malen's numbers are now impressive. His 0-1 was already his fourth European goal this season and his thirteenth in total. Ten of them, he made in an away game. That's a club record. "I got a very nice ball from Max. We knew they wanted to keep the center closed. Max crossed it tightly and I ran toward the first post. Nice," Malen said. "I'm so tired, I have to recover for a while," he continued. "This was one of our goals. We are happy."
