Peter Uneken's team wins the match against FC Den Bosch at home. Earlier this season, Young PSV already won the away game with the Bosch team. Now the three points can be credited at home.
Strong opening phase
In the previous encounter with FC Den Bosch, Fode Fofana made his debut for Young PSV and immediately scored two goals. This time, too, he showed he was not afraid of the Bosch players. After less than two minutes of play he delivered the first shot on goal in the match, but goalkeeper Van der Steen was able to catch the ball. On the Young PSV half, the visitors had a shooting chance, but a good reflex by Vincent Müller kept the net empty. In the end, the opening goal came in the name of Shurandy Sambo. The right back joined in the attack and was able to shoot into the far corner from close range, 1-0. In attacking terms there was little threat to the FC Den Bosch goal. Young PSV had the upper hand in the first half. Fofana tried to crown a strong half with an own goal. A vicious shot by the striker just landed on Van der Steen's hands. The Burssons made a few more attempts from standard situations, but no major danger came to Vincent Müller's goal in the first half.
Advantage defended
Young PSV surged ahead in the second half with a big chance. A targeted shot by Bakayoko narrowly missed Van der Steen's fists and the rebound was for substitute Cheick Touré. The striker rounded easily but was flagged for offside. After a clever cross from Dante Rigo, Mathias Kjølø made another attempt with his head that went a few centimeters over the goal. There was more threat from FC Den Bosch in the second half. But Müller showed his best side several times to keep the goal clean. In the closing stages an attempt came from Nigel Thomas. With a tight low cross he almost reached Kristófer Kristinsson but the Icelander was just too late. As a last attempt, Thomas was allowed to take a free kick from close range. The ball went into the right corner, but just over the goal. The narrow lead was enough for the win.
