After three fine victories, Young PSV will take on RKC Waalwijk on Monday night. The match will kick off at 20:00 at sports complex De Herdgang.
Good run
Young PSV has made an excellent start to 2016. Pascal Jansen's team won all three games in the second half of the season so far. They won handsomely at Go Ahead Eagles and VVV-Venlo, MVV Maastricht was beaten 2-0 at home. Young PSV would like to continue this good run.
Reinforcement from the first team
Coach Pascal Jansen can call on some players from the first team. Steven Bergwijn, who scored two goals after the winter break, is back in the squad. In addition, the coach has Jordy de Wijs and Menno Koch at his disposal at the back. The latter played his first full game last week after his injury.
Win at the Mandemakers Stadium
In August, RKC Waalwijk hosted Young PSV at the Mandemakers Stadium. The game then ended in a 1-2 victory for Young PSV. The match had a goal-rich final phase, with both teams scoring in extra time. One of the goal scorers from then will not be there tonight: Rai Vloet is leased to Eredivisie team Cambuur Leeuwarden until the end of the season. The other goal scorer was Steven Bergwijn.
A strengthened RKC Waalwijk
Opponent RKC Waalwijk started 2016 reasonably well. Coach van den Berg's team started well, winning 2-1 against Telstar. This was followed by a big loss to leaders Sparta Rotterdam and a draw against Achilles '29. Like Young PSV, RKC Waalwijk has a reinforced selection tonight: striker Pieter Langedijk came over from Sparta Rotterdam. He left his calling card in the previous round by scoring against Achilles '29. Furthermore, van den Berg can call on new acquisitions Kenny Anderson (Heart of Midlothian) and Ron Janzen (Cambuur Leeuwarden).
