After a win in the opening weekend against FC Eindhoven, Young PSV suffered a big defeat in the second league game. TOP Oss was 4-1 too strong for the pledges on their own field.

False start
At the Frans Heesen Stadium, Young PSV quickly faces a 2-0 deficit. In the 11th minute, Nieveld opened the scoring on behalf of TOP Oss by leaving Yanick van Osch defenseless with a header from close range. Less than sixty seconds later, Dogan doubles the lead by tapping in the 2-0 from close range. Psv U21 could do little more than counter with a free kick from Armando Obispo. In the 29th minute, Dennis Haar's team reduced the margin when Joël Piroe was brought down in the penalty area by goalkeeper Olij and Ramon Lundqvist took the penalty: 2-1.

Dogan breaks resistance
Eight minutes after halftime, it was the home team who managed to score from a penalty. After a pushing error Dogan remained cool and made it 3-1. This broke the resistance of the young team, although Piroe was dangerous not long after. The attacker escaped the offside trap and shot narrowly wide from an awkward angle. TOP midfielder Smeets then made the final decision by scoring the 4-1 just over a quarter of an hour before time. In the closing stages, Amar Catic made his professional debut on behalf of PSV.
