Young PSV earned a point in their first match of the season in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. The team of debutant Peter Uneken came back from a deficit through Ihattaren, but a red card by De Haas threw a spanner in the works.
Ihattaren makes the difference
Young PSV got off to a strong start and was dangerous twice through Aboukhlal. The outside player, however, does not manage to score. It is therefore surprising that FC Den Bosch takes the lead after barely ten minutes. Abdullahi outsmarted goalkeeper Van de Meulenhof with a placed shot that fell into the goal via the underside of the crossbar. Uneken's team remained the better side after the goal and immediately went in search of the equalizer. After a good header by Aboukhlal was disallowed, Mohamed Ihattaren made the difference before halftime. The attacking midfielder first curled the ball into the far corner and moments later rounded off in a controlled manner for the 2-1 halftime score.
Red card De Haas
Without Ihattaren and Teze, Young PSV starts the second half, but it does not go as hoped. Captain De Haas receives a red card seven minutes after halftime. The central defender brings down the broken Trotman and has to leave. The resulting free kick also means the equalizer. Verbeek hits the target. In the remainder of the match, the team is forced to retreat. Aboukhlal had an opportunity to score a third goal, but again the outside player failed. Partly thanks to Toni Lato (kicks a ball off the line), PSV stands firm in the second half and takes a point against FC Den Bosch.
