Young PSV will take on Helmond Sport on Monday night. The duel between the numbers fifteen and nineteen of the Jupiler League starts at 8 p.m. at FC Eindhoven's Jan Louwers Stadium.
Busy period
The duel with Helmond Sport is the first match in a busy series in the Jupiler League. In the next eleven days Young PSV plays no less than four matches. First against Helmond, Friday an away game at De Graafschap, then again at the Jan Louwers Stadium against MVV Maastricht and finally Young PSV will visit Telstar.
Last home win in January
It has been a while since Young PSV managed to win a home match. The last time was at the end of January, when Jong FC Twente were beaten 4-1. In the six matches that followed, head coach Darije Kalezic's team achieved only one win. A 0-2 victory over Sparta Rotterdam was recorded at Het Kasteel. As a result, Young PSV can be found in fifteenth place in the Jupiler League. With a win at Helmond they can pass number fourteen Telstar in the league table.
Few wins for Helmond
For Helmond Sport, the season is not going as desired. The club is nineteenth in the Jupiler League and has achieved only five victories this season. The last one was in the last round against RKC Waalwijk, which is in last place. Helmond won convincingly with 3-0. This increased the gap with the Waalwijkers to six points. In the previous nine games, head coach Jan van Dijk's team took only three points, all from a draw.
Loss in Helmond
One of those five wins by Helmond Sport was earlier this season at Young PSV. In late November, it was 2-1. Menno Koch scored the 0-1 early on behalf of Kalezic's team, but twenty minutes later Jack Tuyp made it 1-1. For a long time the game seemed to be heading for a draw, but five minutes before time Oumar Diouck had the 2-1 scored.
