Gwyneth Hendriks faces the game with Telstar, which is also dedicated to International Women's Day, with confidence. The PSV Women's captain thinks her team can dominate the game, but at the same time she guards against underestimation: "Then it can be a tough match."

What drives you every day to improve yourself and be the best version of yourself?
"You have a certain goal that you want to achieve. You have to do everything for that yourself, and with each other. I super enjoy being on the football field and I'm extremely fanatical, so I really want to win. That starts from Monday until the day of the match, you live a whole towards it."

How would you describe yourself on and off the field?
"I really have the will to win and that radiates from me. I want to give everything for it and that's number one with me. From last year I have made great strides and if I can just play nice offensive football and take care of the build-up then I am completely satisfied."

What does the role of captain mean to you on the field?
"I show my will to win not only with words, but also with my attitude. That's essential if you want to win. By going full into duels, I set a good example. In addition, I keep the team sharp, but I also continue to learn every day and continuously work on my development."

A duel with Telstar awaits next Sunday. They currently occupy the last place in the league table. What do you expect from the match?
"I expect us to dominate the game on Sunday and be on the ball a lot, we have to demand the same from ourselves. On paper we are the better team, but if you start thinking like that, it can be a tough match. We have to approach every game as a final. The three points are the most important thing and hopefully we can do that with good football. We will create many chances, but have to stay sharp as a rearguard in the moments when they come out."

How do you make sure you stay focused?
"You shouldn't look too far ahead or be preoccupied with games that won't come for a few weeks. The focus is on Sunday; that's the next game and we just have to win that. After that, we'll look further. That mentality is well established."

The competition is dedicated to International Women's Day. What does that mean to you?
"I think it's super nice that that is now combined on a game day, that you can give some extra attention to that. It's a great initiative and good that we are letting ourselves be heard in that."
