Head coach Roger Schmidt picked up his first prize with PSV last weekend. Now he wants to continue the good line against FC Midtjylland and get the job done to reach the champions league playoffs.

No time for celebration
In Denmark, Schmidt addressed the accompanying journalists about the upcoming match. But of course it was also extensively about the win of the Johan Cruijff Schaal. "We unfortunately did not have much time to celebrate the win, we have to move on again but we will keep this win. Nobody takes it away from us, but all sights should now be on qualifying for the Champions League," the Head Coach said in Herning, Denmark.

Stay sharp
Despite PSV having an excellent starting position after the earlier 3-0 win against FC Midtjylland, Schmidt demands that his players stay sharp: "We know that our opponent is strong. They play with a lot of energy and we have to be ready from the first second. But last Saturday did give us a lot of confidence. It shows that we are on the right track."

Improvements
Despite the strong games PSV has played, there is always room for improvement, the Head Coach said. His selection must try to avoid familiar pitfalls. "We have little time to prepare. Until Christmas we play a game almost every three days, so a wide selection is important. Everyone has to be ready," Schmidt said. The match against Ajax is still to be felt by the players. There they won convincingly to take control of the silverware. But that did not go without a fight: "I did not expect us to dominate for 90 minutes against Ajax. But we had to win the important duels on the pitch and we succeeded. So it's good to see that we can control the quality of such a team."
