"It was a sloppy game, but we did win," the striker responded succinctly. "It's important that you still manage to win at a time like this, and we succeeded. We wanted to play better and score more, but unfortunately that wasn't in the cards. We weren't careful enough with the ball and that has to improve in the coming games. Next week we will pick this up."
Opening goal
Gakpo accounted for the only goal of the match, it was also a typical goal we know from the striker. "I train well on it, if the situation occurs then I make something of it," he says. "You have to look at how free you are and which corner you are in. A bigger score was possible, but still I'm happy with my goal."
Next week, PSV will play the return game in Tel Aviv. This one is on Thursday, Feb. 24, at 6:45 p.m.
