In a game with few major chances, Young PSV recorded a 1-0 win over FC Volendam. A goal by Gakpo was enough for the three points on Friday night.
Few opportunities
The first part of the match had few chances. The first big opportunity was in the 26th minute for Teze, who volleyed hard towards goalkeeper Van Stappershoef's goal. Shortly after, a free kick by Mauro flew just wide of the goal. The visitors also had two good opportunities to open the scoring a few minutes later. A hard shot was cleverly tapped over by Van Osch and a header from the subsequent corner went just wide. However, no goals were scored in the first half.

Hit by Gakpo sufficient
Just after halftime, Verreth had the chance to make it 1-0. The outfielder ran alone towards goal, but then shot straight into the goalkeeper's hands. A minute later the ball was in the net. Verreth crossed for Gakpo, who tapped in at the far post. The rest of the game was much like the opening phase: the game was up and down, with no real chances. Three games in a row Young PSV lost points in the final stages, but not on Friday night. Coach Haar's team won their first match in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie since August 17.
