Ali Riza Aygün is quitting as PSV's esporter. This marks the end of his second stint in the KPN eDivision. "I got the most out of it," says the 29-year-old Eindhoven native about his career as an esporter.
Ali Riza joined PSV as a second gamer in 2017. Under the guidance of coach Romal Abdi, he twice became national champion of the Netherlands, was a participant in the first-ever eChampions League and was the first international of Oranje. He also represented PSV at various tournaments worldwide.
This season, Ali Riza returned as a player. His adventure now ends in the playoffs. Now that he has a family, he finds that gaming does not always get the attention needed to perform at the top level. Still, he looks back on his career with warm feelings. "We achieved an awful lot together. It's unfortunate that the eDivision wasn't there when I was younger, but despite that I've made the most of it. I have always felt hugely loved within the community and am happy to remain involved with PSV Esports. We are already working hard on the future of the team."
