Mauro Júnior has extended his expiring contract at PSV until the summer of 2029. Both the club and the child of the club are delighted with the new commitment. "PSV is my family. My home. My story," said the 25-year-old multifunctional player from Brazil.

Mauro has been associated with PSV for many years. In the summer of 2013, the left-legged footballer completed his first training period at PSV Campus De Herdgang. Four years later - at the age of 18 - he signed his first contract in Eindhoven. Not much later, his debut for Young PSV followed. Meanwhile, Mauro has become an integral part of PSV's main squad, although the road to it was one of trial and error.

"PSV is more than a club for me. It is a part of who I have become," assures Mauro, whose name is regularly chanted by fans during matches. "You saw me laugh, you saw me cry, you saw me fall and above all get up again. We fought together for prizes, for glory, for pride. From the championship moments to the difficult times when I had to rehab and could only touch the ball in my dreams. But always there was your support. Your arms around my shoulders. For that I am intensely grateful."

PSV over a number of foreign options
Director of football affairs Earnest Stewart expresses his appreciation for Mauro Júnior. "Apart from his defensive and footballing qualities, Mauro is also of great added value in terms of mentality," Stewart said. "We are proud that he has chosen his love for PSV over a number of foreign options. Despite the high level he already exhibits in recent years, we are convinced that there is still much more stretch in Mauro."

Mauro continued adamantly, "I am far from finished and want to experience much more with you. More prizes, more tears of happiness, more memories. From Brazilian to now definitely Eindhovenian at heart. Let's continue together."
