Phillip Cocu saw a PSV with two faces Sunday afternoon against Feyenoord. Before halftime he enjoyed his team's passion and football, in the second half the coach observed that PSV fell far back. "We went along with Feyenoord's play too much," he analyzed.
Good weekend
"Before halftime, we executed the tactics we thought of beforehand, excellently," Cocu told reporters afterwards. "Concentrated, from the team into the task. We played really well," he thought, but then after halftime things deteriorated. "From the second half we have to learn. It remains a mystery to me why we fell back in the second half. It didn't really look like anything. There was no courage, no initiative. I am absolutely not satisfied with that." All the more so about the results on Sunday. "Ajax played a draw, we won against Feyenoord. In that respect, it's a good weekend."
'Zoet saves us'
Captain Marco van Ginkel cherished the points afterwards. "The first half was fine, the second pieces less so. How can that be? No idea," Van Ginkel said in front of FOX Sports' camera. "Zoet saved us. We struggled when they started putting pressure. In the end we got the win by the heels, that remains the most important thing."
De Jong
Cocu could not yet say much about the injury to Luuk de Jong, who had to be sidelined with an injury after a hard charge by Feyenoord player Steven Berghuis. What does seem certain is that the tackle caused damage. Cocu: "I don't know the exact status at the moment. They will probably keep him in the hospital for observation tonight. The blow to his ribs has had a huge impact."
