Cocu after loss against Ajax

Head coaches Phillip Cocu and Frank de Boer agreed at the press conference. Ajax's 1-3 win over PSV was not deserved. PSV was entitled to at least a point.

Cocu's reaction to defeat
"We started aggressively and put pressure forward. Only when Ajax got a bit stronger, the phase of their goal, did we get a bit harder," Cocu said. "At halftime I indicated that we had to keep playing like this, then that goal would come naturally. We have managed to come back from a deficit before and fortunately we managed to do so now. It was deserved and I think after the 1-1 draw a second goal was in the air. It's a shame to fall behind again with a free kick like that. A draw would not have been bad for us. But if we keep playing like this, with this attitude and with guts, we will score more than one goal more often. The feeling of disappointment prevails, but we can certainly take confidence from this," Cocu concluded positively.

Happy win Ajax according to De Boer
Ajax head coach Frank de Boer did not think Ajax deserved the three points. "When you come here, you know that PSV are eager to deliver the final blow. That's how they started, we didn't get a grip on the game. That lasted for about 25 minutes, then we got more control. We became more and more threatening and eventually that resulted in a goal. I was hoping it would continue in the second half, but nothing came of it. We just walked backwards and PSV deservedly equalized. With individual class and some luck, we still got the three points. But it wasn't deserved," De Boer said.
