Cocu after victory over FC Utrecht

Head coach Phillip Cocu praised PSV's good start in the second half at the press conference. Within five minutes it was already 2-0.

Cocu's reaction to victory
PSV struggled to get through FC Utrecht's defense in the first half, but succeeded in the second half. Cocu had also observed that. "In the first half we struggled to create a real away chance. For that, the ball pace was too low and we used the long pass too much," Cocu said. "At half-time I indicated that the ball tempo had to go up. The response to that was very good. In the first twenty minutes we switched up a few gears and it was quickly 2-0. If you don't make the 3-0, you forget to put the game away. After the 2-1 we gave away too much space, but we corrected it pretty quickly and controlled the final phase in which we made the 3-1," Cocu concluded.

Alflen remains positive
"We had chosen a somewhat more conservative tactic for this match," Alflen began. "That went fine in the first half. Unfortunately, you give that away immediately in the first few minutes after halftime. Then you think it's played and more goals against are in the air. Fortunately, we were kept alive and we come back into the game. I keep a double feeling from this match. We did lose, but I finally saw a team again that was only concerned with football. The positive feeling prevails," Alflen said.
