PSV U21 won from Jong FC Utrecht without great effort. In a pretty one-sided game it became 3-1.
Daneels
Led by the well playing Lennerd Daneels, PSV U21 dominated almost the entire first half. The young attacker was constantly playable between the lines and caused disorder in the defense of Jong FC Utrecht several times. PSV U21 did (too) little with this disorder, however. Especially since Justin Lonwijk had already given the pledges the lead in the opening phase of the game. After 12 minutes the midfielder nodded the 1-0 in from a corner kick that could not be handled well by goalkeeper Nijhuis of Jong FC Utrecht.
Standout Daneels (wearing jersey number 11) sees Lonwijk score
Early decision
Where PSV U21 left some chances unused, the team struck immediately after halftime. Matthias Verreth scored 2-0 from the penalty spot. A good action by Jordan Teze preceded. The back stepped up and was pushed to the ground in the penalty area, after which Verreth pronounced the verdict on FC Utrecht. The straggler in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie was nowhere near able to add any excitement to the game. The visitors did score (through Arweiler), but only after substitute Amar Catic had scored 3-0 in fine fashion.
