PSV Women close the first half of the season with an away game against Telstar. Coach Nebojsa Vuckovic looks ahead to the game without top scorer Vanity Lewerissa.
Vuckovic expects difficult evening
The last meeting with Telstar ended in a record win at De Herdgang. It was a 9-2 win over the number five ranked team. Friday night's match, however, will by no means be easy, predicts coach Vuckovic. ''It is important to end the first half of the season with a victory. For the feeling in the group and to recover ourselves from the heavy defeat in The Hague. However, I do not expect it to be an easy task."
Injury ghost
That is partly due to the many injuries. Last week, top scorer Lewerissa dropped another important pawn in Vuckovic's team. "It will be a difficult match given the circumstances and the unexpected loss of Vanity," he said. News on the severity of her injury will follow on Friday but the situation has certainly had an impact." With Lewerissa's injury and those of Corine Peels, Maran van Erp, Michelle Hendriks and Nadia Coolen , PSV Women counts five injured players. They will all be unavailable for PSV Women on Friday due to injury.
