After a 4-0 win at Excelsior Maassluis earlier this season, PSV will take on RKC Waalwijk in the second round of the TOTO KNVB Beker at Philips Stadium on Tuesday night. Fred Grim's team has not played in the Eredivisie since 2014, but the Waalwijkers have a rich history with and against PSV.

2 times 2-0
The last encounter between the two teams may still be on your mind. In the preparation for last season, PSV started with a practice match against RKC Waalwijk. In Waalwijk, PSV triumphed 2-0 through two goals by Steven Bergwijn. The last official game between the two teams dates back to February 2014. That game RKC won 2-0.

38 times in Eredivisie
In the highest Dutch league, the Eredivisie, PSV and RKC played 38 times against each other, most recently in 2014. Of those 38 duels, PSV won 27, drew 7 times and RKC won 4 times.

Championship game in 2000
A special edition of PSV - RKC Waalwijk dates back to 2000. The Philips Stadion was the venue for PSV's championship match that year on Queen's Day (April 30). It became 7-1, thanks in part to a goal by Mark van Bommel.

Marcel Brands
A number of people in football have a past with both PSV and RKC. The best known and most recent is Marcel Brands. As a player he played for RKC three times (1984 - 1986, 1987 - 1988 and 1990 - 1997). From 1997 he then held various positions within the same club until 2005. From 2010 - 2018, Brands was technical director of PSV.

Mandemakers
Anyone who hears Mandemakers probably immediately thinks of RKC. This is not surprising, as it has been the main sponsor of the team for more than 25 years, which moreover plays its home games in Mandemakers Stadium. Yet Mandemakers Keukens, as its full name reads, is not unknown either. The kitchen company has been a partner of PSV for years.
