National coach Sarina Wiegman has invited 25 players including PSV player Aniek Nouwen to the training camp in South Africa. It is the first preparatory activity of the Dutch women's football team on their way to the World Cup in France.
Five internationals active
The Lionesses will stay in South Africa from January 14-21. On Saturday, January 19 at 3 p.m. (local time) a practice match is scheduled with World Cup participant South Africa. In addition, junior international Janou Levels has been called up for Orange O19. She will travel to Portugal for two practice matches against Norway (Jan. 18) and England (Jan. 20).
Defender Anna Björk Kristjánsdóttir reports to the Icelandic squad for a game against and in Scotland (Jan. 21). Attacking midfielder Davinia Vanmechelen has been selected for the Belgian Red Flames. Vanmechelen is working an individual program in Belgium and will join the national team on Thursday. Dominique Bond Flasza travels to Jamaica for a practice placement, also in preparation for World Cup 2019. PSV's five internationals will rejoin the team next week in preparation for the PSV - ADO Den Haag cup game.
