In a sold-out TenCate Stadion De Herdgang, Roeland ten Berge 's team shared the points with Ajax. After a stiff first half, PSV took the lead in the 63rd minute through substitute Renate Jansen. However, this goal was not enough for victory and the Amsterdammers equalized ten minutes before time.
In the opening stages of the match, both teams were evenly matched, but the first chance was still some way off. After twenty minutes of play PSV was dangerous for the first time, after Lore Jacobs reached Fenna Kalma with a placed cross. The striker just lacked precision and the ball ended up over the goal. After this chance, PSV was dangerous at times from the flanks, but failed to put the opening goal on the board. Furthermore, the last line did not make any mistakes in the first half and PSV Women went to tea with a 0-0 score.
Golden switch
In the second half, PSV soon suffered a setback and Sara Thrige left the field injured. The game was again evenly matched, but the chances remained scarce. After an hour of play the visitors broke dangerously, but Nicky Evrard was well positioned and the goalkeeper saved her team. Not long after, PSV was successful in attack and it was Renate Jansen who took the 1-0 after a high ball from Emma Frijns and scored for the fourth game in a row. The attacker was still cold in the field, but was of unprecedented value for PSV Women with her goal.
Exciting final phase
After the opening goal, PSV stepped up the pressure and came close to scoring 2-0 through Nina Nijstad . However, PSV short-changed themselves and failed to double the score. Ten minutes before time, the visitors were effective and Ajax equalized against the odds. After the equalizer PSV went close to a late winning goal, but it did not come, so Roeland Ten Berge's team had to settle for a 1-1 draw.
