To conclude the exhausting but above all very fun and educational pro week, the technical staff had arranged a practice match. In order to practice a bit for the spring competition, we chose to play against a first year E, today's opponent was ESV E3 from Eindhoven.

A game that was slightly different than usual because the whole group had to play and lasted 3 x 20 minutes. Unfortunately Dani had to miss the professional week because he was still suffering from the flu. The kick-off took place at the stroke of 10 o'clock and it soon became clear that our boys were not impressed by their older opponents, as they immediately became dangerous from the kick-off. Yorbe picked up the ball and started a rush that ended with a shot against the post. In the 4th minute it was finally a goal. Mathijs intercepted the ball and reached Yorbe who in turn saw Jochem standing free, who took an effective shot 1-0. Five minutes later the second goal was in the net. After again some preparatory work by Yorbe, Quinn finished with great skill. That Yorbe can score as well was proven one minute later, after a nice assist by Mathijs he made it 3-0. In the remainder of the first half the game went back and forth, with the opponent scoring once, 3-1. They did not get any further, which was not surprising with 3 top defenders such as Joël R who stood up well time after time, Shurandy who gave the opponent no chance and Mathijs who dominated every game. Then of course we also had Victor, the new Jean Marie Pfaff in goal who could not do anything about the goal against and made some excellent saves.


With 6 new players and 1 new goalkeeper the second half kicked off and we saw the same picture as before the break. Again there were opportunities on both sides for more goals. Thijs went well through on the left a couple of times but just could not finish. In the 4th minute of the second half Joël K could not prevent ESV from connecting the score 3-2. Moments later there was a chance for Jamie but came a toe length too short to finish off a great cross from Lars. The second half was 8 minutes old when ESV even made it 3-3. But they could not enjoy this for very long because 3 minutes later it was Niels who advanced from the left and after a great solo found Achraf who as always finished coolly to make it 4-3. PSV became stronger and stronger and with many attacks mainly by Mees and Damian the enemy goal was bombarded, but no more goals were scored, also because Quinn and Achraf were unlucky in finishing.


In the 3rd half, which this time was not played in the canteen but on the pitch, our boys continued cheerfully as if they had not been training all week. Jamie made it 5-3 after 8 minutes after another assist from Yorbe. Our two heroes Victor and Joël K on goal prevented further goals. And just before time Mees scored his weekly goal when he tapped in a corner from Lars. With this great result we said goodbye to the faithful spectators who came in large numbers.
