The first half showed a fun game of football, with two teams wanting to make something of it. Both teams tried to play forward and put pressure in front.
In the 18th minute that resulted in the first goal. Jorbe took the ball off the feet of the central defender of WillemII/RKC, and with one sublime move of his foot gave Sekou free access to the goal. Sekou did not fail and rounded off in a controlled manner, 1-0.
In the 27th minute, PSV had a quick breakout on the right. Jorbe gets to the back line and puts the ball back to Davy who, from about the 16 meter line, leaves the goalkeeper completely defenseless. 2-0.
PSV fails to extend the score, and then as so often happens the opposite happens. WillemII/RKC can take a free kick from the sideline in the 32nd minute. This cross is not handled well, and the falling ball is put into the top corner. 2-1 is the score at halftime.
In the second half WillemII/RKC started fiercely, and despite the coach had warned about this in the break, PSV did not handle this well. In the 2nd minute Abou can only stop his opponent by fouling him in the penalty area. Penalty and fortunately only a yellow card. Lucas had success with the psychological game between goalkeeper and penalty taker, as the latter shot the ball wide of the goal. Nevertheless, WillemII/RKC drew strength from this opportunity and managed to make things difficult for PSV for the first twenty minutes. PSV recovered and in the 27th minute left back Benji steamed across midfield and delivered the ball to right wing Sekou. Sekou got past a couple of opponents and curled the ball beautifully into the cross. With 3-1, the tension was out of the game, but it was not over yet. In the 29th minute, Joop pushed forward well in midfield and gave the ball to Davy on the right, who delivered a perfectly cut cross, which in turn was fantastically headed in by Jorbe, who jumped above everyone else. This made the final score 4-1.
This result keeps PSV in second place in the league table, and secures a spot among the first six.
