  1. Match report

Today the away match against Fortuna Sittard U11 is on the program for the boys of PSV E2. As we have to play at 9 o'clock it is again very early up today for the players, coaches and parents of this team. On the way to Sittard I see that it rained a lot last night, so I am curious how the fields look like because usually it is quite swampy on the fields in Sittard. After we have all gathered and changed, we walk to the entry field where it is indeed very swampy, it looks like an ice rink so slippery. Fortunately, the field we play on is of better quality.
After the first whistle of the referee, we immediately see that both teams are eager to play today, there are chances in front of both goals, after a scrimmage in front of the Fortuna goal it is Sven who coolly taps the ball in, making it 0-1. Immediately after the PSV goal Fortuna put things right by scoring the tying goal 1-1. In the 3rd minute Seb puts the ball from the sideline brilliantly into the far corner, the goalkeeper is without chance, this is quality (although Seb will admit later that it was a waved cross that fell in with luck) 1-2. In the 9th minute Fortuna equalizes again through a very nice attack via several drives 2-2. But 1 minute later, PSV already has another lead through Seb who shoots the ball in via the underside of the crossbar. Now it is Fortuna's turn again but Lucas does not agree and with a nice save he prevents this. Niek has already tried several times with distance shots but each time it went wrong. In the 12th minute from 20 meters it is finally 2-4. A nice diagonal shot on goal brings Fortuna closer again, 3-4. In the 19th minute a strange situation occurs in the goal area, a Fortuna player catches the ball halfway on the goal line, hands penalty shouted everyone, but the referee gives a goal, why? The ball has not crossed the goal line? The referee's explanation was very simple, both trainers have indicated before the game that there are no penalties possible at this age, in his eyes it was a penalty, but was not allowed to give it so very simple otherwise it was a goal so I count it anyway. We'll just say Limburg hospitality 3-5. And halftime.
Coach Patrick says that the team should play together more and not let everyone go for his own chance. For the rest he is reasonably satisfied. On to the 2nd half.
We start well again Thijn gives a great pass to Seb, who immediately shoots at goal, but the ball goes just wide. Mathijs attempted a volley from a corner, but the ball hit the bar. PSV had everything under control, but did not score until Sven took a free kick over the goalkeeper in the 26th minute, 3-6. 1 Minute later the Fortuna goalkeeper did not get a grip on the ball Mathijs reacts immediately and taps the ball into the net 3-7. In the 34 minute another ball hit the bar from a distance shot, but this time Seb reacts well and neatly heads the ball into the net.
Right after the kick off of the third half, PSV is on the attack again, after a nice combination between our guest F-players Emir manages to score 3-9. In the third half Fortuna fights back and also gets their chances, in three minutes they score 3 times PSV scores 1 more time through Mathijs, so the score has changed to 6-10 in three minutes. Now the PSVers pick up the good play and take the initiative again, through a well-aimed ball from Mathijs placed past the goalkeeper it becomes 6-11. Mathijs scores again with a header from a corner, our third guest player Thijn also scores through good reaction, and finally Seb and Mathijs score. In the last minutes PSV runs far away from Fortuna with a final score of 6-15.
All in all a nice match, with PSV generally the better team, but at times Fortuna also showed good and beautiful football. We had 3 guest players from our F team today, Emir, Thijn and Mathijs. All 3 played a very good game, and Mathijs even scored 5 goals. A lovely wet field to play on although the material people will think otherwise, the clothes were pretty dirty, but knowing these people, the next game it will be pico bello again. Next week Helmond sport U10.
