The B2 recovered well from last week's defeat at Feyenoord. However, the final score did not always reflect the way the game was played, as coach Twan Scheepers' team proved again last Saturday. The guests from Enschede dragged away their first point in the league from Eindhoven in the closing stages of the match.

Although the Twente players had the first big chance of the match - in the 3rd minute the right-wing striker volleyed a cross just in front of Thomas Hooyberghs' goal - the B2 created a large number of chances, especially in the first half, with excellent combination football on the wings, taking full advantage of the space on the sides. In the 10th minute, central defender Gökhan Kardes sent Martijn Berden deep on the right with a fine pass, but his fine cross was shot over by Youandi Renfurm from close range. At halftime the scoreboard was still 0-0.

The second half showed much the same picture. Again, the first good opportunity came for the Twente players when a shot went just wide in the 43rd minute, but again PSV had the best chances. Less than a minute later Steven Bergwijn had the deserved 1-0 on his shoe, when he shot over a cross from the right with a nice half-take. In the end, we had to wait until the '53rd minute for the opening goal, which came from a corner, despite the footballing chances created. Philippe Rommens laid the ball low in the penalty area, where it was tapped in by Youandi Renfurm in 'Van der Vaart'-like fashion with the heel.

What PSV could and should blame themselves for after that was that no greater distance was taken from Twente and the game was not thrown into the lock. Because of the limited margin, the Twente players kept the feeling until the end of the match that there might still be a point to be gained in Eindhoven. And 8 minutes before the final whistle what was feared did happen, Twente scored the 1-1 from a breakaway when the ball was shot diagonally into the far corner inside the 16-meter area out of the reach of Thomas Hooyberghs. In the remaining minutes, Arnaut Groeneveld shot the ball just over Twente's crossbar, the final feat that also typified the match, a match in which PSV gave themselves emphatic shortcomings.
