We played today at 9:30 in Maastricht against the series champion, MVV. Unfortunately, three players were sick. Milan, Deveron and Jesse were at home in bed with flu. From the E-youth Luc played along.
We started the match strongly. In the first five minutes we had a lot of ball possession. After about fifteen minutes of play, Mylian went through strongly on the right. His tight cross ended up in the goal via an MVV leg. 0-1. In the last minute MVV came back. A counter finished with a high ball over Kevin. 1-1.
After halftime we played well. Through a free kick by Mylian we became dangerous, in the rebound Joey almost shot it in. The 1-2 was in the air. Via Martijn and Joep we regularly came in front of the goal but we did not manage to find the net. So it stayed 1-1.
In the third half we went looking for the 1-2. We played a lot in the opponent's half and our attackers had chances. Unfortunately we were just not sharp enough. Five minutes before time MVV took full advantage. With two quick counterattacks they scored the 2-1 and 3-1. Unjustly.
We worked hard today and played good football at times. Unfortunately we had some bad luck in finishing. Next week we play at 12.00 in Helmond.
