  1. Match report

In a week in which one player after another dropped out with illness (Pepijn, Kyan and Rico) or injury (Davy), it was a good thing that the game against Eindhoven was canceled. This meant that enough players could kick off against Reusel Sport. In miserable conditions (a strong wind and pouring rain) the home team immediately went on the attack. With a nice pass, Joop found Joey on the right side of the field. Unfortunately his shot went just over the goal. The visitors were not hiding either. A quickly executed counter was well interrupted by Kyan. Yet it was PSV who quickly took the lead. In the second minute it was Joop who kept chasing the Reusel Sport defense well. They got so upset by this that the ball ended up in their own goal. 1-0. The home club wanted to decide the match early. Thus Koen, after a wonderful action on the right side of the pitch, had a nice cross in the house. Joop reacted well to this cross and with a nice foot movement tried to outsmart the goalkeeper. Unfortunately, the ball missed the goal by a hair. The visitors from Reusel tried to equalize with some pinpricks. But the real chances were for our red and white boys. From a cross from Tijn, Koen headed the ball just wide. And halfway through the first half Gregory broke free. His shot was saved this time. Just a minute later Gregory again reacted well to a Kyan rebound. His shot hit the target and the score was 2-0. On the stroke of halftime, PSV seemed to put the game away. Joey went well through on the right side of the pitch. With his cross he again found Gregory. This time he unfortunately hit the post. After halftime, the rain got even heavier, making good football almost impossible. The first chance was for Reusel Sport. Kyan made a fine save to prevent the tying goal. Gregory had a good header from a Bryan corner. The goalkeeper managed to stop the ball. Koen's rebound was also well cleared by the defense. A Reusel Sport corner on the other side of the pitch also brought some danger. A header that changed direction left Kyan defenseless. 2-1. The home club wanted to quickly bring the margin back to two. Bryan steamed forward from behind. On the left he saw Yassin running free, who in turn found Gregory. His attempted goal was well stopped by the goalkeeper. In the 42nd minute the goal was scored. Sem himself started the attack. With a nice cross he found Joop, whose shot was stopped by the goalkeeper. Fortunately Sem was able to get the ball behind the goalkeeper. 3-1. With this goal the match was over. The home team did not come out of the game damage free. Bryan and Gregory were unable to finish the match due to injuries. Hopefully they and the other absentees will recover quickly so that a full and fit squad can start the games next week.
