    The Report

Both teams had several opportunities to score in the first 10 minutes of the match. However, the passing was inaccurate so the opportunities could not be converted into goals. The first serious chance of the match was in the 14th minute for the home club, but the ball was shot wide. Two minutes later, PSV took the lead. A corner by Martijn was badly cleared, allowing Jesse to shoot the ball high into the goal: 0-1. Three minutes later PSV scored again. A deep ball from Martijn was eventually played by Milan van de Riet to Ruben, who scored the 0-2 in the far corner. Despite this lead, PSV played restlessly and lost the ball unnecessarily too often. The home club continued to look for the attack and that yielded the tying goal 1-2 in the 26th minute. PEC Zwolle tried to equalize before halftime, but PSV had two more good opportunities that were both not taken. With a 1-2 score the teams went into the break.

From the kickoff in the second half, PEC Zwolle went on the attack. PSV was put under pressure but the home club could not create any real chances. The best chance was in the 44th minute for PSV and this chance was immediately taken. A deep ball from Martijn was put wide by Ruben, allowing Milan van de Riet to easily shoot in: 1-3. Three minutes later the referee wrongly gave advantage to the home club. This put PSV in possession of the ball and they were able to score 1-4 in the same way as the 1-3. As the match progressed, PEC Zwolle lost faith. PSV had the best opportunities in the final stages of the match, but no more goals were scored. Effectiveness was the magic word for PSV O14 this Saturday.
