Today we played away from VVV in Venlo. We knew we were going to have a tough time because we had already lost 6-0 to this team at home.
In the first half we were pretty evenly matched. We played controlled and let the ball circulate. Unfortunately we didn't create any real chances, so we rested 0-0.
In the second half we started strongly. Mathijs sent Mohamed-Amine Ihattaren deep, who beat his opponent with a nice move and crossed the ball tightly. Jeremy was ready to tap in the 0-1. Not much later, VVV did something back, 1-1. Fortunately we continued to play well, but we could not score in the second half. VVV did just before halftime, 2-1.
After halftime we got a corner, which led to the 3-1. Fortunately we came back quickly because Jur got the ball pushed into his feet by the VVV goalkeeper. Jur tapped in the 2-3 and there was hope again. Unfortunately VVV scored again, 2-4. Now it looked like it was going to be very difficult for us.
Mohamed-Amine Ihattaren shot at the post but that was as far as we could go. From a corner VVV also scored the 5-2.
Today we lost 5-2 but still we played well at times. We were calm on the ball and always looked for the footballing solution. With this game we should be able to win against MVV at home next week.
