For PSV, the away match against leaders AZ was on the program on Saturday. Coach Twan Scheepers' team played an excellent game and secured victory in the last 20 minutes of the first half. An important role was played by striker Vincent Heilmann, who managed to find the Alkmaar goal no less than 5 times.
In the first 20 minutes AZ still became dangerous with a number of distance shots, gambling that they would slip through on the soggy pitch and only be processed. However, goalkeeper Thomas Hooyberghs did not let this surprise him and handled all attempts perfectly. From the 20th minute on, however, PSV completely dominated and controlled the match, after Vincent Heilmann opened the scoring from a penalty awarded to him - he was flagrantly brought down by the AZ goalkeeper in the penalty area - which he shot dry. And that was the least beautiful goal of the afternoon, because the goals that followed were without exception of great beauty. Around the 30th min Vincent was sent into the penalty area twice in a short period of time by Youandi Renfurm with an almost identical pass and put alone in front of the goalkeeper. One time he hit the roof of the goal and the other time he hit the far corner with precision. And just a few minutes later, midfielder Steven Bergwijn sent Vincent Heilmann into the penalty area from the other end with a beautiful through pass, after which Vincent controlled the 0-4 just before halftime.
An unprecedented wealth for the team that in the last few games had had so much trouble converting the many chances created into goals. And a new assignment from the coach for the players in the 2nd half, which was to be able to carry the wealth and finish the game professionally. The B2 acquitted themselves excellently of that task. Hardly any chances were given away to AZ -the only goal of the Alkmaarers shortly before the end of the match resulted from a very dubious penalty kick- and the score was even expanded with 2 fantastic goals. Especially the 0-5 was of great beauty, an attack set up by Steven Bergwijn who sent left striker Youandi Renfurm into the depths with a great pass, and whose cross was then tapped in by Vincent Heilmann with his heel via the post. Lastly, substitute Emilio Prieto y Gorgosz asserted himself and shot the 0-6 from 40 meters out.
