PSV started the game well and managed to score after only five minutes through an attack on the right. The ball was laid back to Mathijs. From outside the box Mathijs pecked the ball into the roof of the goal, 0-1. A few minutes later UNA was dangerous for the first time from a free kick. The ball was tapped just wide. PSV had complete control of the game for the first 20 minutes. PSV created few chances but also gave nothing away. Nevertheless, UNA equalized in the 24th minute. A free kick by UNA just outside the sixteen was shot hard over the wall into the goal 1-1. UNA got more confidence after this equalizer and started to play brighter football. The last chance of the first half, however, was for PSV. After a nice run by Jeremy he shot the ball just wide. The score at halftime was 1-1.

With the same confidence with which UNA ended the first half, the home club started the second half. The first chance in the second half was for UNA. In the 37th minute an effort from an UNA player was well parried by Peter. A few minutes later PSV was successful. A deep ball from Djurre into the feet of Jeremy was shot in by Jeremy 1-2. UNA then went in search of the equalizer but the Zeelsterners were unable to create any real chances. Still, the score was equalized in the 51st minute, again from a standard situation. An UNA corner was nicely headed in, 2-2. PSV pulled out all the stops to get the win. UNA held on so both sides had to settle for one point.
