After a week of autumn break we played today against Roda JC in Kerkrade. There were quite a few changes in our selection. Gioele will have to miss a while due to a nasty injury and Milan also ended up in the sickbay. Joris and Joey joined the E1 and Joep and Genrich played for the D2.
After 11 minutes of play Mylian played a nice pass to Genrich. He played off his man and shot in a controlled manner. 1-0. We had the game well under control. Until the last minute of the first half. Roda JC's striker was sent in deep and shot the 1-1.
Little happened in the second half. Football was mainly played on our half because we couldn't get out. Roda JC was unable to create chances. So after one half of football it was still 1-1.
In the third half we hoped to play more in the Roda JC half. This went better and we became dangerous through Joep and Martijn. In the 54th minute we scored. Martijn extended a cross from Kevin. Joep started and got the ball perfectly. In front of the goal he did not hesitate and shot high inside. 2-1. A beautiful and deserved goal. We did not get into trouble anymore and won!
We worked very hard today. All players went through fire for each other and this resulted in a nice victory. If we keep this up, we will get better every week and the points will come. Next week we play a practice match against Rot Weiss Essen at 10:00 am.
